Elijah didn’t collapse on a bad day. He collapsed on his best day.
He had just stood alone on Mount Carmel against 450 prophets of Baal. He had called down fire from heaven. He had watched the drought break after three and a half years. It was the greatest victory of his ministry.
Then one woman sent him a message — no army, no weapon, just words — and the man who had just outrun a chariot ran for his life into the wilderness, sat under a broom tree, and asked God to let him die.
